2012 FFA Video Contest Rules and Guidelines !!

 

Section I. Video Restrictions and Participation

  • 1. Each FFA chapter is allowed to submit a maximum of two videos in each of the categories (animal agriculture and sustainability).

  • 2. The number of persons involved with the production of each video is unlimited. It can be an FFA chapter collaborative effort or individuals in the chapter breaking out into groups.

  • 3. All participants must be Nebraska FFA members.

  • 4. Submitted videos must be a minimum of 2 minutes in length and a maximum of 5 minutes.

  • 5. Videos must address or illustrate the following questions in each category:

                   a. Animal Agriculture

                              i. What are you doing to promote good animal husbandry?
                              ii. What does sustainable livestock and poultry production mean to you?
          

                    b. Sustainability


                               i. What does sustainable soybean production look like?
                              ii. What other measures are you taking to promote sustainable agriculture in your community?
                              iii. Why is sustainability important?

  • 6. All videos are to be submitted February 1 – March 2, 2012 to be eligible for the contest.

  • 7. If the Nebraska Soybean Board deems any submitted video inappropriate or irrelevant, we reserve the right to not display or submit your video in the contest.

Section II. Voting Process

  • 1. Public voting will take place March 5-17, 2012 on the Nebraska Soybean Board Facebook page. You will need to encourage your friends and relatives to vote for your video during this period in order to advance to the next round.

  • 2. Following the completion of the public voting process, videos will be narrowed down and NSB board members will then review the top 5 videos in each category to determine the top 3 winners in each category.

  • 3. The winners in each category will be announced during our session at the State FFA Convention on Thursday, March 29, 2012.

Section III. Cash Prize

  • 1. The Nebraska Soybean Board (NSB) will provide a stipend for an educational item/event to be used at the winning FFA chapters’ discretion. Upon winning the contest, a representative from the chapter must submit a plan, in writing, for how the chapter will use the stipend for an educational item/event of their choosing. The plan must be approved by NSB before the monies will be released.

  • 2. All successfully submitted videos will be eligible to win the cash prize.

  • 3. Prize denominations will be awarded as follows for each category:

            a. 1st place: $1,000
            b. 2nd place: $500
            c. 3rd place: $250
