The Story of Agriculture
By: Lisa Lunz
Spring is approaching, and with it comes another growing season; the planters are ready, and it is time to put the crop into the field.
In that spirit of new beginnings, I am honored to welcome you to the Nebraska Soybean Board blog, where we hope to share with you the true story of agriculture. Here you will get to know a few Nebraska farm families and learn about their passion for their land, animals and livelihoods.
As a farmer and chair of the Nebraska Soybean Board, I know firsthand the hard work and care Nebraska farmers put into producing an affordable, safe food supply for consumers in our state, our nation and the world. Nebraska farmers live and breathe agriculture each and every day.
If you or anyone you know has questions about agriculture and how your food is produced, these farmers are the people you can trust for honest and straightforward answers. They’ll be the first to tell you, farming is not just a job; it’s a way of life. They care deeply about what they feed their families and yours, and that principle guides everything they do. Each day we put the same food on our tables for our family and it is about the choices that we make.
I hope this blog will be a great source of information directly from the source: Nebraska farm families. I also hope you will share things you learn here with your family and friends. After all, you play a part in the story of agriculture too. Pass it on.
Wishing the best from our families to yours,
Nebraska Soybean Board Chair
