Election of NSB Directors
Nine farmers representing eight districts, with one at-large position, are elected by their fellow farmers. Directors serve three year terms. Three of the positions are elected each July via direct mail balloting. Farmers in those districts involved in the election will receive notice of the election and their ballots in the mail in July. New directors are announced in August and begin their terms October 1st. Farmers interested running for a directorship must complete the appropriate forms and collect signatures of 50 farmers in their district. Nebraska Soybean Board Ballots Due July 30, 2010

Election ballots for Districts 2, 4 and 8 of the Nebraska Soybean Board will be mailed on July 13, 2010, to soybean producers in those districts. Producers eligible to vote in the election must produce soybeans, be a resident of the district and pay the soybean checkoff. Qualified producers who do not receive a ballot by July 20, 2010, can call the Nebraska Soybean Board to request one at 800-852-2326. The producer must sign and print their name and county name on the ballot envelope; ballots must be postmarked by July 30, 2010.


Ballots will be mailed to the counties in the following districts:


District 2 (Burt, Cuming, Dakota, Dixon, Stanton, Thurston and Wayne Counties)

District 8 (Arthur, Banner, Blaine, Box Butte, Brown, Chase, Cherry, Cheyenne, Custer, Dawes, Dawson, Deuel, Dundy, Frontier, Furnas, Garden, Garfield, Gosper, Grant, Greeley, Harlan, Hayes, Hitchcock, Hooker, Howard, Keith, Keya Paha, Kimball, Lincoln, Logan, Loup, McPherson, Morrill, Perkins, Phelps, Red Willow, Rock, Scotts Bluff, Sheridan, Sherman, Sioux, Thomas, Valley and Wheeler Counties)

The elected directors will serve a three-year term for these seats beginning October 1, 2010 and ending September 30, 2013.


Results will be announced in August.


The nine-member Nebraska Soybean Board collects and disburses the Nebraska share of funds generated by the one half of one percent times the net sales price per bushel of soybeans sold.  Nebraska soybean checkoff funds are invested in research, domestic and foreign markets, including new uses for soybeans and soybean products.
